CORE BLACK ”DYED SASHIKO“ × COW LEATHER JACKET

CORE BLACK ”DYED SASHIKO×COW LEATHER JACKET

The body of the garment is made from sashiko fabric produced by a long-established textile shop founded in 1872. Sashiko is an extremely durable fabric woven using traditional Japanese techniques, and was used for firefighter uniforms in the Edo period, and is now used for martial arts uniforms such as judo and kendo.

The fabric arrives in its natural, off-white color before dyeing, and we have commissioned a black dyeing specialist in Kyoto, founded in 1870, to dye it a deep, lustrous jet black like a crow's wing.

The sleeves and collar are made of cowhide leather that has been carefully tanned by leather craftsmen.
Although it is cow leather, it has a soft and supple feel similar to deerskin.

The buttons have been updated from the original design to genuine buttons made from processed Indian buffalo horn, giving the garments a more substantial feel that only natural materials can provide, enhancing the overall look.
